Vision and Mission statement
Our mission is to promote the sustainable use of water resources, ensure equitable access for all stakeholders, and protect the basin’s ecosystems for present and future generations
The RUVUMA Joint Water Commission is a joint basin management venture established in 2006. Mozambique and Tanzania agreed in 2006 on the establishment of a Joint Water Commission (JWC), which was subsequently established in 2011. The overall long-term goal of the joint effort between Malawi, Mozambique and Tanzania on the Ruvuma River Basin is to ensure the development of integrated water resources management and related physical infrastructure development that contributes to regional integration and poverty reduction.
